| I want to express my deepest gratitude to Capt. Carolyn Marsh and the volunteers of the Spotsylvania Volunteer Rescue Squad for all their assistance in caring for and transporting my son Daniel to and from the hospital in Richmond.
Daniel is uninsured and has no income. Without their help I truly do not know what we would have done.
On April 26, my 19-year-old son was involved in a nearly fatal ATV accident, suffering extensive injuries. Daniel is now home but confined to a hospital bed. He requires extensive follow-up care and surgeries, and can be transported only via ambulance accompanied by qualified medical personnel.
Medicaid is still pending, we cannot afford private ambulance companies, and charitable organizations do not have the resources for non-ambulatory patients.
There is a void in our system for uninsured disabled people. We were so desperate for help when Carolyn and her team came to our rescue and filled that void, and for that we will be eternally grateful.
I ask the community to continue to support the Spotsylvania Volunteer Rescue Squad.
