| Spotsylvania units were dispatched for reports of a car down an embankment. While still en-route, the assignment was upgraded after dispatch received multiple reports saying that the car had also rolled over. When units arrived on scene, they found a vehicle with obvious signs of a rollover; on it's wheels at the bottom of an embankment. All passengers had exited the vehicle under their own power.
Analysis of the scene showed that while heading southbound in the far right lane, the driver lost control, crossed the left lane and the two opposing lanes. The vehicle then bounced off of a vertical embankment, flipped onto its side, and then bounced off a tree. Scrape marks were found on the tree six feet above ground, showing that the car had hit the tree while still on it's side, before going down an embankment. At the bottom, the car rolled over once before coming to rest upright on its wheels.
Both adults where unrestrained, and showed contusions in the forehead area. An infant was secured in a child-safety seat and suffered only a minor cut from a flying object. Against medical advice, both adults refused transport and further medical treatment. |
