| Preparing for the worst, SVRS staffed additional units Monday and Tuesday, just in case the storm increased call volume.
Starting at noon on Monday, SVRS supplemented the existing career staff by bringing up extra units at Rescue Stations 1, 2, 4, and 8. When the career staff at those stations left at 6 PM, the previously scheduled volunteers took over, maintaining two staffed ambulances at each location. When the career staff returned at 4:40 AM, SVRS continued to staff the extra units until early afternoon, when the county declared the emergency over, and shut down the emergency operations center. |
