What a day for Spotsylvania Volunteers. Rescue squad and fire department crews spent much of the morning responding to general medical and motor vehicle accident calls. By 12pm Station 4 had run 8 calls, Station 1 tagged 5 calls, and Station 2 contributed with 4 responses. Heavy snow and ice showers late in the evening caused havoc on many of the roadways throughout the county. Nearly 17 calls for assistance were reported within a few hours of the weather arriving in the area. This is not including those accident scenes that crews stumbled upon while responding to calls. Thankfully the weather stalled by early Sunday morning giving members some much needed R&R.
