Spotsylvania Volunteer Rescue Squad was the recipient of the 2008 Governor's Award for Outstanding EMS Agency. The award was given at the 2008 Governor's Awards Banquet held at the Norfolk Waterside Marriot in Norfolk, Va. SVRS was one of ten agencies nominated from various regions of the state for the prestigious award.
The Governor's EMS Awards Banquet is held annually during the EMS Symposium. The EMS Symposium draws approximately 1,800 EMS providers, nurses and physicians from around the state to obtain continuing education credits and greet friends near and far.
