On October 12, 2008, Spotsylvania Fire/Rescue Station 1 held it's Open House. The day was started by a presentation of colors. Next speakers of the organizations that had joined together to make this day possible. The speakers included leadership from the Spotsylvania Fire and Rescue Emergency Management, Spotsylvania Volunteer Fire Department, Spotsylvania Volunteer Rescue Squad and Spotsylvania Board of Supervisors. This was followed by the ribbon cutting. The ceremony ended with an invitation to all guests to enjoy the day at the new Fire/Rescue Station 1 including lunch and tours through both the building an apparatus.
