The new Fire/Rescue Station 1 opened on 01 AUG 2008. The new station located in the courthouse area at 7200 Courthouse Commons Blvd is a combined Fire/Rescue Station. This station will be staffed by career employees from Spotsylvania Department of Fire, Rescue and Emergency Management during the day, and Volunteers from Spotsylvania Volunteer Fire Department and Spotsylvania Volunteer Rescue Squad on nights and weekends.
The new station features six drive through bays which will be home for multiple ambulances and fire trucks. The volunteer offices will be located at this new station. There are also bunk rooms, kitchen, exercise room, locker rooms, and much much more.
