| At approximately 0100 hours units were dispatched to Interstate 95 southbound for a tractor trailer reported overturned. Upon arrival, responding units found the tractor trailer (carrying Turkey Hill Iced Tea) facing southbound in the northbound lanes of travel. It was traveling southbound when it crossed over the median, destroying yards of guardrail, before stopping in the northbound lanes . There was significant damage to the trailer, and minimal to the drivers compartment. The driver had significant bleeding from the head, but denied medical treatment. One hundred gallons of diesel spilled across the interstate. The incident was compounded by mist and dense fog - severely diminishing visability. More photos to come. |
